Save Your Work

Worlds to live by: Save your work often! Saving a document creates the file that you can open later, whether to continue your editing or print off a paper copy. (If you don’t save your document, you’ll lose it if you turn off your Mac or suffer a power failure, and you’ll have to start over from scratch.) To save a Pages document after you finish it (or to take a break while designing), follow these steps within Pages:

If you’re saving a document that hasn’t yet been saved, press ⌘  +S or choose File ⇒ Save. The Save sheet you see in Figure 8-11 appears.

Type a filename for your new document.

Choose a location to save the document. By default, Pages saves your document to the Pages folder in your iCloud Drive.

Click Save.
